One of my favorite things about this stage in Natalie’s development is watching her really use her imagination. She’s always been a playful child, but I marvel now at how creative and independent she can be in her play these days.
Here she is, at 3 years & 4 months, playing make-believe with a fan in her room. I had the luxury of sitting on her bed with a magazine while she entertained herself with lengthy conversations and crazy scenarios with her friend the fan (quickly named “Santa-Evanora”) for nearly 40 uninterrupted minutes. Her only pauses in play were to ask me to take her picture and to gather more accessories to wear while she dropped Santa-Evanora off at school.
